This memoir is about two Canadian Mennonite women--a Bible professor, Dorothy M Peters, and a pastor, Christine S. Kampen--and a surprising story of migration that traces their vocational calling across generations and gender, back to their Bible teaching-preaching grandfather Jacob J. Doerksen (1907–1952) and to their unforgettable great-grandmother Agatha Krause Doerksen (1884–1982). The authors interview elder-storytellers and investigate leads through a trail of letters, pictures, and documents, while reflecting on their own journeys and solving a few mysteries along the way.
